SHE’S BACK! CMW CEO Danya Dixon Returning as Judge

In a major twist and shake-up today, The Shot: Remastered executive producer C.J. Allen announced the return of Canadian Music Week CEO Danya Dixon to the judging panel for the remainder of the inaugural season of the show’s new format. Dixon will replace country singer-songwriter Jessie T. who judged the first two rounds of the competition which began in March this year.

Dixon returns to The Shot after a season-long sabbatical (season 7) during which was she promoted to the role of Chief Executive Officer for Canada’s largest annual live music and conference event. Dixon had originally come on as a judge back in season 4.

“I’m so excited to be back,” said Dixon, “I’ve missed my Shot family and I’m looking forward to bring brought up to speed on this season’s artists and to be part of this new format! CMW and I have always been a huge supporters of The Shot and I can’t wait to see the Canadian talent the my fellow judges have discovered so far this year.”

“Danya is a Canadian music industry powerhouse,” added Allen who acts as both executive producer and head judge, “and she has provided amazing opportunities for artists from previous seasons. I’ve wanted to bring Danya back and now she’s with us again and brings so much strength, expertise and authenticity to the already stellar panel we have for The Shot: Remastered.

This season is now headed into its third phase, the Label Meetings, in September with 40 artists left to compete.
