Funding Organizations

The Alberta Foundation for the Arts is a public agency and a provincial corporation of the Government of Alberta with a mandate to support and contribute to the development of the arts in Alberta. We provide grant funding to artists and art organizations to encourage the growth and development of the arts sector. We also promote the arts and manage an extensive provincial art collection featuring work from artists all over the province.

The British Columbia Arts Council (BCAC) nurtures and supports arts and cultural activity in communities across British Columbia.  From community arts in rural and urban centres, to individual artists, professional performing arts companies, Indigenous artists and cultural organizations, art galleries, local museums and music festivals – BCAC supports a range of activities while engaging with artists and communities to inform policies and programs.

The Conseil identifies, supports and recognizes artistic excellence. Through its subsidy programs, operating grants, residencies, mobilization activities and awards—including the Grand Prix du Conseil des arts de Montréal—the Conseil is the proud partner of nearly 500 Montreal cultural profesionnal organizations and collectives. By helping to present the works of artists in all areas of the island, the Conseil has made Montreal the vibrant and creative city it is today.

Conseil des arts et des lettres du Québec (CALQ) supports, throughout Québec, creation, experimentation, production and dissemination in the realms of the visual arts, the arts and crafts, literature, the performing arts, the multidisciplinary arts, cinema and video, the digital arts and architectural research. CALQ also seeks to broaden the influence of artists, writers, arts organizations and their works in Québec, Canada and abroad.

FACTOR’s programs provide financial support to Canadian recording artists, labels, songwriters, publishers, event producers and distributors. Whether an artist is looking to record a demo or a full-length sound recording, market an existing album, or go on tour at home or internationally, there is funding available.

Music BC Industry Association is a not for profit association serving the for profit and non-profit music industry, including artists from all genres, industry professionals, service providers, studios, promoters, venues, festivals, producers, agents, managers and educational institutions. Music BC is the voice of the BC Music industry locally, domestically and internationally, through active advocacy for funding, policy, red tape reduction, tax credits and creator’s rights. The organization also advocates at international trade missions to promote business and creative opportunities.

Music PEI, founded in 2001 as the Prince Edward Island Music Awards Association, is a non-profit member services organization devoted to advancing careers of Island musicians. SaskMusic is a non-profit, member-based association that represents, promotes and develops the artists and music industry of Saskatchewan, Canada.
