What is "Eye4Talent"?

In 2019, the producers behind “The Shot” — Canada’s biggest vocal competition — are kicking things up a notch with a brand new platform that is going to change the way talent is discovered. With the search open to acts ages of all ages, “Eye4Talent” is bringing the variety format back to Canada by showcasing unique performers from all across our country. The series is set to be a true celebration of creativity and talent, open to and featuring singers, dancers, comedians, contortionists, acrobats, impressionists, magicians, ventriloquists, choirs, animal acts and the best that technological entertainment has to offer along with an array of other hopeful stars, all vying for a dream package that could launch the career of Canada’s next big star.

Where does "Eye4Talent" take place?

Season 1 of “Eye4Talent” will be held in the beating heart of Canada’s entertainment industry: Toronto, Ontario.

Who can enter?

Open to any kind of talent of any age: from singers to dancers, comedians, contortionists, acrobats, impressionists, magicians, ventriloquists, choirs, animal acts, anything and everything!

Am I responsible for my own expenses?

Yes.  Each participant is responsible for covering their own travel, accommodation and meal expenses in connection with any and all programs and initiatives related to Eye4Talent.

What are the dates for Season 1?

The stage auditions for those who has passed the video auditions will be held on March 2nd and 3rd, 2019. A producer will contact you following your video audition to provide you with more details.

If you are selected by the Eyes to advance to the Eyeopener, you will be required to attend in person on March 9th, 2019.

The Semi-Final show will be held on March 23rd, 2019..

The Final will be held on April 6th, 2019.

These dates are subject to change by the producers.

What is the process for Season 1?

In the first stage of the competition, acts will submit an audition video that best shows off their undeniable talent.

Acts who are selected to advance will be invited to perform live on stage in front of the judges or “The Eyes” — a panel of distinguished professionals from a diverse set of backgrounds, all representing a corner of the entertainment industry — who will oversee the audition process along with the help of a theatre audience who will ultimately be the eyes that each act will want to impress in order to take home the big prize.

Having conquered the stage auditions, the participants chosen by The Eyes will return for a second time to perform at the Eyeopener — a callback round where performers will need to up their game in order to be one of 16 semi-finalists.

In the Semi-Finals, the 16 best acts will vie for one of 8 spots in the Final. 4 acts will be selected by the semi-finals audience and 4 will be selected by the judges.

With the Top 8 acts selected, The Eyes are closed and the power shifts to the audience where their votes will determine which performer will win “Eye4Talent” and a package of opportunities that could ultimately change the way they see the world.

When is the deadline to submit a video?

The deadline for submitting a video audition is January 18th, 2019.

Is there a fee to submit a video audition?

Yes, there is an administrative fee of $10 plus applicable tax and service charges to submit a video audition.

Who are the judges?

The judges, or “The Eyes”, will be officially announced in the months ahead via our Facebook page at facebook.com/eye4talentcompetition.

They are a group of entertainment industry professionals from a wide-ranging, diverse cross-section of different backgrounds ready and eager to see what talent can be discovered through the “Eye4Talent” platform.

Is "Eye4Talent" televised?

“Eye4Talent” will be filmed and produced independently by Music & Artist Development Experience.  Portions of “Eye4Talent” will be available online on our Facebook page, on Youtube and through various live streams throughout the process.

Is there a prize for the winner?

Yes. The winner of “Eye4Talent” will receive a cash prize and the opportunity to headline a show at a prominent Canadian entertainment venue.

I'm not Canadian. Can I apply?

Yes, you can! But you must be willing and available to travel to Canada for the in-person portions of the competition.
