Juneyt Sitting It Out for Season 6

Executive producer C.J. Allen announced today during a live feed on The Shot‘s Facebook page that veteran judge/coach Juneyt Yetkiner will not be returning for Season 6 of the hit vocal talent search competition this September.

Citing scheduling conflicts that prevent Yetkiner from participating, Allen praised the internationally renowned performer’s contribution to the program over the past several seasons saying, “We’re very sad that [Juneyt] won’t be with us.  Juneyt has been a judge since season 2.  He’s an amazing artist and coach.  It’s really a shame but we hope to have him back for a future season …”

Yetkiner joined The Shot in 2015 and won that season as mentor of Season 2 winner, James Downham.

“It’s been an amazing journey,” Yetkiner wrote in an email to the other coaches and staff, “and it feels like I’m leaving my second family.  I’ll miss you all dearly and I hope to be back again for another season in the future.”

No announcement has been made yet about a replacement to take Yetkiner’s seat on the panel.  This will mark the second shakeup with the Coaches since long-time judge/mentor Joni NehRita left the show after Season 5 and was replaced by former member of The Nylons and vocal coach, Micah Barnes.
